CHAPTER ONE
How I found my way home
My story has never followed a perfectly outlined plot. It has been filled with unexpected endings, difficult chapters, new beginnings, and more than a few moments when I had to rewrite the future I imagined for myself.Â

I began attending Pepperdine University, excited to start a new chapter overlooking the beautiful Malibu coast. However, my college experience did not unfold the way I expected. Between the Malibu fires and the arrival of COVID-19, I returned home much earlier than planned. At the time, it felt like the life I had imagined was being interupted. Looking back, I can see that it was simply the beginning of a different story.

When I was twenty years old, my sister passed away. Losing her changed me in ways I am still learning to understand. Grief does not end when the chapter closes. It quietly becomes part of the person carrying it. Her life and loss taught me how precious time is, how deeply love can remain after someone is gone, and how important it is to show compassion to people facing their most painful moments.Â

I also found the courage to leave an abusive relationship. Getting out was a long process of rediscovering my strength, rebuilding my sense of self, and learning that love should never require someone to become smaller.

Then I found my fiancé...

With him, I discovered a love that feels patient, safe, and genuine. Together, we began building a family and welcomed our son, Jasper, into the world. Motherhood has changed nearly every part of me. I has made me softer and stronger at the same time. It has filled my days with beautiful chaos, interrupted thoughts, iced coffee, tiny hands, and a love greater than anything I knew was possible.Â

Becoming a mother also helped me recognize what I want to do with my life. I decided to return to school and pursue a nursing degree. Balancing motherhood, college, and everyday responsibilites is not always easy, but I want my son to grow up knowing that it is never too late to begin again or choose a new path.Â

Bookwyrm grew from all these pieces of me: the lifelong reader, the mother, the student, the baker, the dreamer, and the woman who has survived stories she never would have chosen for herself.

Welcome to Bookwyrm. I am so glad you found your way here!

Comfort
Baking became a positive outlet during some of my most difficult seasons. I believe food can offer warmth connection, and a little bit of comfort when we need it most.
Inspiration & Values
At the heart of Bookwyrm Baker is the belief that even the hardest chapters can lead us somewhere beautiful. This space was inspired by motherhood, healing, storytelling, and the comfort I found in creating something sweet when life felt especially heavy.Â

Storytelling
Every recipe holds a story. Some are tied to family memories, motherhood, local traditions, or the wonderfully chaotic adventure of balancing college and home life.

Community
I hope to create a welcoming corner for fellow reader, bakers, mothers, students, and anyone still finding their way through an unexpected chapter of their
own.Â
